bike Completed on May 11, 1999 Ever since 1998, the month of may has always been a significant month for me. I consider it to be the month of my rebirth. For this entire month in 1999, I planned to honor my 'birthday' by focusing more on drawing than I had been in the past few months. At that time in my life, I was at a crossroads. I wanted nothing more than to buy a bike and ride across America. Sound stupid to you? It kinda does to me now. But if I would have done it, I would probably have grown into a much different person than who I am now; one who would have seen why it wasn't stupid. So for this time in my life, I suppose you could say I was obsessed with 'bike' logos. Every time I drew one, it was a reminder to myself that soon, the summer would be here and I would be on the road, finally living my life! This is the first of many that I would take and convert into full-blown photoshop creations. It has kind of a rust on a metallic wire looking surface. Also of importance is a pop-out background style which would later become a hallmark of mine.
