This is the first of many drawings I did when I was over in Korea and Japan for a three-month study abroad trip I took in the fall of '98.

The way it all worked out was pretty cool - our Professor, Dr. Kyrzick (I'm probably spelling his name wrong) was originally supposed to accompany us students over to Japan. However, he did some checking around and found out that it would be the same cost to have us be delayed in Korea for a week, and then get a connecting flight to Japan. He asked us if we wanted to do that, and we all did, considering how his wife was Korean and he knew the Korean countryside like the back of his hand.

That single week in Korea was better than most of the three months I spent in Japan. We went a bunch of places, got drunk like every night, and were introduced to all the freaky Korean 'cuisine' Kyrzick could find. To this day I still have a certain affinity for that stuff, I couldn't tell you why though.
