02.03.2001 : The non-gbc entries are available.
 

I'm sorry for the confusing. All of the non-gbc entries are now available for download. As for the gbc entries, those will probably have to be displayed on another site for various reasons(really just one stupid one). I was just trying to be fair at the moment, but I don't see a real solution very soon...so I'm doing what I can for the rest of the coders...then again, those who are on the gbc list have found their own way ;).


01.03.2001 : Entry presentation
 

I have put together a presentation of all the entries. All you have to do is goto the usual Coders section with the graphic link above. The presentation is where the old registration list used to be. Have fun and enjoy the entries while we prepare to judge them. If anything changes, we'll let you know soon, it will be a few weeks before the judging results are in. I cannot help it.


28.02.2001 : y2kode entry submission is over
 

First of all, thanks to all the coders that worked hard and produce an entry for this competition. There are a few catagories with few entries or just one/two from a single console, such as dreamcast and megadrive. I do not know if anything will change. However, since our main Lik-Sang representative is out of the country, I will be making a presentation of the entries and everything soon but the judging will wait. Please bear with me while I put something together.


27.02.2001 : A little help with the timezones
 

Check out timezone page for help in determining when the y2kode competition is over for you. This is based off of the Hong Kong deadline. Thanks to the forum post by Heliophobe for making this available and saving me the time.


25.02.2001 : Small request: make 2 screenshots of your demo/game
 

This is just a small request that I have for everyone that can do it. If you can, please take about 2 screenshots of your game or demo as you would like them to be done. This is to ensure good quality and such, plus it will make it much quicker in the long run to get everything out. If you are using a PS or DC,etc please make it the appropriate size in relation to the resolution. Just include these in a .zip(if you can) file along with your demo and upload it, or re-upload however the case may be. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.


21.02.2001 : Not much time left, where are all the entries?!
 

Hey guys,
 Not much time until the contest is over, and not really anyone has entered. Don't forget that there is only 28 days in February, March 1st may be here sooner than you think. Whatever you have, try and put it in, the prizes and spirit are well worth a few hours polish work just to make something enterable.


17.02.2001 : y2kode entries can now be submitted
 

Your y2kode entry is now allowed to be submitted using the web submission page. The simple password system is only there to help minimize trouble and to keep you straight mentally. You are allowed to resubmit as many times as you would like. If you have any problems or find a major bug in the code, please let me know as soon as possible. You can also check out who has submitted and who hasn't from the Coders listing. Hope you had a great time, we will definately enjoy the many entries into this competition.


01.02.2001 : The final month begins!
 

Hey everyone! I hope that you all have been hard at work because the final month is upon us. We have a great competition lined up with currently 42 groups and coders signed up. I'm sorry for the lack of news; however, this was just a lot of time for all of us to get out work done, right? You judges out there will be notified of final approval and all the related info to the judging phase. To you coders out there, get your code cleaned up, the graphics pruned and your info typed. I have decided to make the demo submissions web-based so that we can easily keep track of them, and you won't have to wonder if it was recieved. I don't think there will be a password system so please play fair. Since it will be web-based, you will be able to resubmit your work up until the deadline. That deadline is the end of February, Hong Kong time. That is 8hrs ahead of GMT. When March 01,2001 rolls over, it is too late.


20.12.2000 : Deadline extended to end of February
 

Due to the huge delay, which we had for the DC Coders Cable, the deadline of the coders competition has been extended to end of February 2001. We really apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused to the already registered coders who rushed to submit their masterpiece within the next couple of days. Please lean back and expect some more DC releases to come. The website will be updated and further information will be posted here.

Furthermore we would like to announce a change in y2kode's rules. Previously released projects may now be submitted - as long as they have been really further developed, not just changed sprites, logos or text. In example if you have released your game as an early beta version before, don't hesitate to submit your entry.

Please remember, the first price is a travel to Hong Kong, it is worth finishing your project within the next 2 month.


26.10.2000 : 20 coders, 6 judges, new features?
 

There have only been 3 new coders since the last update; however, they include another PC Engine group and 2 more gameboy groups. There have been a good number of judge entries, which now total 6 approved. I am not sure how many more will be accepted, but you should send in your registration now if you want to be a part of the judging. Also, I am working on a new site feature. You will be able to edit your project info and give more detailed descriptions and updates if you like. You will at least be able to change the project name and homepage if you desire nothing else. Keep up the good work! (Revision)TheGypsy has had to remove himself due to legal issues, only 20 coders.


10.10.2000 : Up to 18 entries!
 

Great news! We now have a total of 18 entries in the contest. This last batch included entries into many catagories including some previously unfilled. There are now entries in the PC Engine catagory, along with 1 more in neogeo, playstation, master system and 2 more in the gameboy catagory. The gameboy/neogeo/wonderswan competition continues to be our most filled. Keep the entries coming, this looks like there are competitions forming in all the catagories!


09.10.2000 : Wonderswan added to the competition
 

We have decided to add wonderswan to the competition. It is now included in the gameboy/neogeo catagory. Now, there are even more handheld units to choose from and hopefully a more interesting competition. You may also discuss the wonderswan in the forum area along with registering your group under the wonderswan catagory. We hope some of you take this opportunity and make this an interesting competition!

26.09.2000 : 12 entries so far
 

After a few silent days (we have been to Tokyo Game Show) here
a short summary about the last days:

We have 12 entries so far, not much, but a good beginning. y2kode is currently dominated by GBC coders, which was clear. But also Neo Geo Pocket Coders, SNES coders, Playstation+Dreamcast coders are working on a project.

We are still searching for somebody who is willing to be a y2kode admin, php/mysql should not be a foreign word for you.

RoCross (GBC) - WebDreamer / CindeKat

His game entry is a side-scrolling space shooter for the GameBoy / GameBoy Color.

Maze (NGP)- Jeff Siebold

Generate random mazes and the have the player try to solve the maze.


Space Opera (GBC) - Paolo Borzini

In this demo, all graphics objects and text are make in APA Mode

And last but not least there'll be an entry from Jason/The Post Punk Progression, but he is not sure yet what exactly...
