Successfully compiled toolchains for DC (SH4,ARM)
Posted: January 28th, 2001 @ 23:07 By: Thorsten Titze

Finally I found the time to download all the neccessary tools and sources to build the GNU Cross Compiler (GCC) toolchains for compiling for the SH4 (Dreamcast Main Processor) and the ARM (Dreamcast Sound Processor).

I will post detailed instructions later this week. And by then I will hopefully have my Coders-Cable in my mail so that I can also write and post the 1st program tutorial.

Sega out of console hardware market ???
Posted: January 24th, 2001 @ 10:44 By: Thorsten Titze

A rumor that already spooked around on the internet for some time now finally made it's TV appearance in Europe (at least I've never seen something about it before on TV here in Europe).

This morning while watching the European Newschannel Euronews during breakfast they featured an article on news about Sega changing their company profile in the console market to merely producing software-titles for the Playstation 2 by Sony and the X-Box by Microsoft.

Both companies, Sony and Sega did not answer to enquiries of the newschannel.

Let's just hope that this is was it was. A rumor which does not prove to be right.

DC Coders Cable due to arrive...
Posted: January 23rd, 2001 @ 19:33 By: Thorsten Titze

I just got word that my ordered DC-Coders Cable will arrive soon. Since I did not get my hands on the NeoGeoPocket link cable that can be modified to a Coders Cable I had to order one. For those who already have this link-cable or are able to get one I will put up a site on how to modify the cable.

Expect (hopefully) interesting articles in the Dreamcast Development section as soon as the cable arrives and I can make my first test with the devkit. Until then I will write up a tutorial on how to install it and get it to compile.

In case you want to order the cable, Lik-Sang has them. Don't consider this an advertisement but it's the only place that I found having these cables !

Next I will start some of the Console-Development pages. Expect the first pages going online this week.

DVD -> MPEG4v3 Guides partly online...
Posted: January 22nd, 2001 @ 00:14 By: Thorsten Titze

The conversion process of contents from the old to the new site design is slowly commencing. I started converting parts of the MPEG4v3 Guides and hope to have all of them online by tomorrow.

Next victims of the conversion will then be the Playstation Development Documents I've written so far.

Note:
You will still find all the contents on my old-designed site on this location.

Posted: January 21st, 2001 @ 22:12 By: Thorsten Titze

Finally hangar-eleven is online with a more convenient design possibly better to read. Though it will take some time until all contents are transferred from the old design to the new one.

Those who are interested in the articles and links from the old site can find this site here.
