I already posted this tutorial
on some forums. But due to some
bugs in my LBATABLE tools
I decided to go the way of not
using self-made tools but to use
a PPF-Patch and pre-made
IML File. This is also the
first Tutorial is also posted
on English boards and which therefore
is available in English.
You can find a pure text version
of this tutorial here.

Introduction:
-------------
I mainly
wrote Tools for LBA Table extraction
and patching but since again
these tools are written in Perl
many people would have problems
like with my Onimusha LBATools.
So here is the tutorial with
a PPF Patch for LBA/DVD Checks
!
Step
0) Copying the DVD
-----------------------
NOTE:
You should copy the DVD to c:\TARGET
or you will have to edit the
IML Files in the RIPPACK !!
Step
1) Downsizing
------------------
a)
Delete following PSS Files from
the UI directory:
- ATTRACT.PSS
- CREDITS.PSS
b) Replace both these PSS Files
with "smallempty.pss"
from the ZIP-file above.. Your
UI directory should look the
same as before but should be
a bit smaller.
Step
2) Patching the SCES
-------------------------
a)
Start PPF-o-Matic from ATVPalPPFRipPack.zip
b) Click on the Disc at PPF-File
and choose "ATVPAL-LBADVD.ppf"
from the RiPPACK
c) Click on the Disc at BIN-File
and choose your SCES502.93
d) Click "Apply"
e) You SCES is now patched
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION ON THE PPF:
----------------------------------
a)
The DVD Check is located at
0xe4b90
b) The LBA Table starts @ 01D2FD0
c) There are 967 LBA Table Rows
to be patched (at least that's
the line-count my TABLE.TXT
shows which I generated with
LBATOOL [ATV])
d) Every row is 40 Bytes long
aaaa
0000 bbbb 0000 cccc 0000 dddd
0000 eeee 0000
aaaa
= Pointer
bbbb = LBA Start of File
cccc = LBA End of File
dddd = LBA Size of File
eeee = Byte Site of File
Again
all values are word and byte
swapped !
Step
3) Build the ISO File
--------------------------
a)
Enter a MS-DOS Command-prompt
and go to the directory where
you have the IML Files from
the RiPPack
NOTE:
In case you didn't copy the
DVD to C:\TARGET, now it's the
time to change the IML to reflect
your directory.
b)
Enter "IML2ISO ATVPAL.IML
ATVPAL.ISO"
You
should end up with a nice ISO
File fitting on a 650 MB CDR
!
Step
4) Burning the ISO File
-----------------------------
a)
Fire up CDRWin and Choose the
Toolbox
b) Choose "Record an ISO9660
image file"
c) At "Image Filename"
click on three dots and browse
to your built ISOFile
d) Set "Disctype"
to CDROM-XA and "TrackMode"
to MODE2
e) Set Option "Finalize/Close
Session|" and "Write
Postgap"
f) Now Burn
You
should end up with a RiP of
your PAL ATV Offroad !!
